GUEST AcCess GUIDE


We aim to cater for the needs of all visitors to

our farmhouse bed and breakfast. We respect that individual needs differ.

 

The following is a statement of our provisions. To assist those that need to assess accommodation suitability.

If you do have any specific questions or requests not answered here
please contact us and we will do our very best to help.

Pre-Arrival

The nearest town is Dursley, which is approximately 3.5 miles away.


 Cam & Dursley railway station is approximately 2 miles away.
There are limited pedestrian pavements from the station and
these are mostly unlit. We are happy to collect guests and
their luggage from the railway station by prior arrangement.
(We suggest that guests inform us of their estimated time of
arrival at the station and then telephone when they disembark
from the train). A return service can also offered if requested.


The Cotswold Way is some 3.6 miles away by road; 2.8 miles
by public footpaths. We are happy to collect walkers by prior arrangement

from the car park at the base of Peaked Down (OS767993).

A return service can also offered.


National Cycle route 41 is immediately outside of the property
and the A38 is popular with those undertaking LEJOG/JOGLE.
Secure bike storage and workshop facilities are available.

 

We can provide a list of local taxi company telephone numbers.
We have three guest bedrooms, all on the first floor.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities



There is free car parking for up to five cars on the level, hard
stoned area to the rear of the house. The access to the back is via

a private lane on the right just before you reach the property.

This parking area is lit by automatic PIR lighting.

The car park is approximately 20 metres from the rear entrance.

It is accessed via a stone slab path, 1m wide. Thereis no gradient on

the path, however the surface is irregular.

The car park and area to the immediate rear door is laid to stonechippings approx 60mm depth.

At night the rear door is lit by motion activated lantern lights.
 

It is possible to drop off guests at the front gate.
Assistance from a car parked at the front gate to the entrance is offered.

The front gate is lit by a lantern light.
 

There is no threshold at the front door.

Contact mobile telephone numbers are displayed beside the door bell.
One internal bell is available if assistance is required out of
usual business hours.


Assistance with luggage is always offered to all guests.
Pets/dogs are not permitted at Churchend Farm due to the
close proximity of livestock.
A small short haired cat and a well mannered dog live with us at Churchend Farm.



Main Entrance & Reception
 Entrance is via the rear door, side hung with 700mm wide aperture.
Entrance is into a hall with level, smooth tiled floor and seat available.
Paper, pad and pen available on arrival.


All guests are asked for an estimated time of arrival and/or
asked to telephone when near to the farm so that someone is
at the door to greet them.
All guests are met at the door or gate, as appropriate, and
assistance offered with entry and luggage.


Public Areas – General (Internal)
All bedrooms are on the first floor which is accessed by a
carpeted staircase of 13 steps, each 180mm high and 1150mm
wide, with a wooden banister, handrail 970mm high, on the left
hand side.


The hallways and staircase are lit at night by low level lighting
from table lamps. Additional bright lighting available from
overhead lights if required.
All walls are solid block colours. Skirting boards and door
frames in hallway and corridors are white.
Guests will be initially escorted to rooms; facilities and fire
evacuation procedure explained.


Public Areas – WC
There is a public W.C. at ground floor level accessed via an
aperture 640mm wide.


Dining Room

Breakfast is served in the breakfast room, off the main
entrance hall on the ground floor.
The breakfast room floor is pine floorboards.
Lighting provided by two large windows, French doors and
from overhead bright lights.
Furniture layout is flexible, and can be altered on request.
Tables are a variety of circular tables with central support and
square tables with legs at each corner.
Chairs are all without arms with high back support.

All chairs can be moved.
Full waited table service.
Vegan, vegetarian and all special diets catered for if prior
notice given of requirements.
We do not hold a licence to sell alcohol.


Laundry Facilities
Guests wet outdoor coats and clothing can be dried in the
farmhouse utility room.
Ironing board and iron are available for guests use free of charge.
We can launder garments at an additional cost upon application.


Bedrooms
All bedrooms and suites are located on the first floor.
Each room has a secure lockable door.
All televisions have remote controls and recieve freeview channels.
Smoke detectors and sounders are fitted in all rooms. All guests
will be alerted by the fire alarm in the event of fire. Members of
staff will give assistance to evacuate the building and check that
all rooms have been evacuated.
All bedrooms are fitted with short pile carpet,

with vinyl flooring in all bathrooms.


Each room is lit by overhead lights fitted with low energy bulbs.
Each room has a minimum of one bedside table with lamp.
All double beds have good access from both sides of the bed.
Bed heights are standard.


Pillows are non allergenic with down duvets. Non allergenic
duvets can be provided upon request. Prior notice required.
Décor in each room is solid block coloured walls with white door
surrounds, and carpet with the exception of the Wren and
Budgerigar which features one patterned wall.

 

 

Cordless kettle in each room.
Bathroom, Shower Room & WC
 En-suites are accessed by an outward opening door a
minimum of 700mm wide.
 Shower cubicles have a step/edge of a maximum of 150mm high.
9 volt shaver point
The toilet is 440mm high.
All rooms and suites have access to a private en suite/ bathroom.


Grounds And Gardens
Guests may use the lawn area to the side of the farmhouse.
The lawn is virtually flat however divots exist.
A stone chipping laid path intersects the first lawn.
Seating is laid out around the garden.

Additional Information
There is a strict no smoking policy in the house and grounds.
Smoking is only permitted in the designated outside area.
Wi-Fi access available from all bedrooms.
No background music is played.
Fridge facilities are available on request.
